POSITION SUMMARY

To provide care to patients and to supervise Nurse Practitioners in the delivery of psychiatric medication management to patients in skilled nursing facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education / Training:
• Medical Degree from an accredited School of Medicine.
• Completed Residency in Psychiatry.

Licensure / Certification:
• License or eligible to practice medicine in Virginia.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible as Practicing Psychiatrist
• Current VA Drivers License

Knowledge and Skills:
• Knowledge of appropriate assessment and evaluation tools and tests, diagnoses, & interventions with patients.
• Strong skills in medication management.
• Ability to work with nursing staff in collaborative approach to care.
• Ability to utilize EMR system to prepare and maintain appropriate medical record documentation.
